However, as I changed my payout method, I am waiting for confirmation of payment, once received I will let you know. For now, here is a picture of the card that I received from Inbox Dollars today... woo hoo, yeah me! It took me approximately 3 weeks to accumulate $30, that was completing surveys off and on, not on a daily basis either. :)
Sometimes it takes a major event to open your eyes, to give you that extra little push that reminds you to start living before it's too late. Unfortunately this type of a jolt usually starts only after a loved one has passed away and sometimes that jolt is completely ignored for many years to come, only to be realized at a later time. Well my story happens to be the one in which it has been realized at a later time, basically, now.

Through the years I have lost many loved ones, both family and friends. With each persons passing, I recall telling myself and others around me that life is too short to wait for something good to come along, you need to get out there and live it, find the adventure for yourself.

Last month we lost a great man, the father of my ex-boyfriend. Despite that our relationship had ended, I found myself staying in touch with the family because not only did I care for them, but in all honesty, I loved my ex and wanted to make sure he was doing okay.

What I realized today was that for whatever my reason was, I was keeping other men at bay, avoiding the possibility of a relationship that might go somewhere, avoiding the possibility of finding true happiness, avoiding the possibility that someone could actually take over a bigger part of my heart.

Perhaps there was a part of me that truly hoped he would want to get help for his alcoholism, something that we could work through, together. Perhaps there was a part of me that wasn't ready to let go so easily, despite what we went through. Perhaps there was a part of me that believed he would choose me over alcohol this time.

Just over a year ago, I met a man through an online dating site. Prior to meeting, we spent about 2 months conversing via phone and emails. Once we finally met, not only did he live up to his profile, but it was discovered that we both had a lot in common. So started a great friendship.

Initially we spent a lot of time together, going out to dinner, dancing, playing pool and sometimes just hanging at each others homes. However about 3 months into the friendship, he started to get serious, wanting something more than just friends and I completely back-tracked. It was so much to the point that I told him things were too hectic for me at that time and I cut off communication with him. Short and simple, I freaked the hell out!

Back in October, we linked the lines of communication together again. I was completely honest with him about my 'Freak Out'. So for the last 7 months, we have been taking things slowly and yet, allowing us the room to grow. It has been an awesome experience so far and I don't see it changing any time soon. What I have realized is that he holds a part of my heart, something that I didn't expect to occur so soon, let alone at all.

So yes, Life is too short and I am finally acknowledging that fact by joining the living, exploring when I can and just letting things happen by not keeping everyone at arms length any more.Arizona Gold ... It wasn't something that I had planned to do, in fact my day was already planned when the sudden urge to just do it came around. Also, the fact that I almost dropped a box of memories on the garage floor definitely helped the matter.

The first thing that I came across was a note with some information on it, and it had everything to do with my AZ Drummer, from over 9 years ago. Apparently we were heading to Tucson to watch his daughter participate in a swim meet. As our relationship was fairly new, my mother insisted on having the license plate number off his truck, his cell number and home address. Lol...

Seeing that note just reminded me of our conversations prior to my return to AZ. It reminded me of how anxious and excited I was to be able to see him again, through our conversations I realized that we both thought about each other on occasion over the years and it's unfortunate that despite the obvious care we still had for each other, we never had the chance to see what it would lead to.

As it has now been almost 2 years since we last spoke, I hope that he has found what makes him happy.

I also came across a box that was full of Chicago Bears stuff... so to say the least, today has definitely been a day of memories, both good and bad, healing and letting go.Arizona Gold ... He could probably answer all the questions that keep swirling around in my head. In truth, I guess I would want him to tell me that it's a common issue and everything will be fine, when in reality, time with my sister isn't going to last as long as I need it to.Arizona Gold ... There was a set of girls in there that in their own way were having a blast, drinking, dancing and the drinking some more, on that I can not fault them for having a good time.... however...... they really couldn't hold their liquor!

At one point in the evening one of the girls had staggered her way up to me and mentioned how she thought the lead singer in the band was rude for not talking to her.. Wellllllllllll... considering the fact that he was on stage and in the middle of a song, I could see where he would assume someone would wait to talk to him, but no, she needed to talk to him right then and there.

After suggesting that she give him an opportunity to finish the song and then make another attempt, or better yet, wait until they are on break, she seemed to have totally forgot what her bitching was about and proceeded to start eating some of my chips! WTF!!!! I did have to tell my manly-man guard to just let her be, she obviously was in need of getting something besides alcohol in her belly.Arizona Gold ... I can answer her question here... The song is Just Started Loving You by James Otto... man almighty. I would literally have to get up and leave the bar if he started belting out this song, otherwise I shouldn't be held accountable for my actions which would include rushing the stage and trying to get between him and his guitar, all the while as he continues to strum that baby!Arizona Gold ... Plated?http://www.blogger.com/profile/05227335914771157588noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803467515245931412.post-58810764760010138712013-08-10T11:00:00.001-07:002013-08-10T11:00:09.411-07:00Practice, practice.... let me say again, practice....Having worked with numerous bands and various bars, it is my understanding that most bands will actually practice not only playing with other members of the band, usually referred to as a rehearsal, but also take the time to go over some of the songs that they intend to actually play during the gig.... yeah, that is not always the case.

It's one thing to mess up a song that is a literal last minute request and is not, nor has it been a part of your set list for many years, it's another thing when you arrive at a club to play with a set list and you can't even do those ones.

Am I venting, hell yes!

For this example, I am gonna use Justin Wright and High Octane, and of course yummy Gary. Anyways.... back on point. They sound awesome, they get out there and belt out the songs, sometimes have a few issues here and there but nothing that would clear out the bar. In fact its great how they can turn the moment into something funny.

A band that played last weekend, well SUCKED! Not only did they not know the words to I am going to have to say about 90% of the songs they sang, but my dog could keep a better tune! This wasn't derived by my own opinion, this was from me and most of the people who actually stayed most of the night to give the band the benefit of the doubt.

So to that, bands, musicians, etc... please please please, practice what you love, if you can't then perhaps you aren't doing what you really enjoy and time to move on.

On that note... yes, Gary is still hot!Arizona Gold ... Going to head down to the bar for a bit of dancing and pool, tonight we have Justin Wright and the High Octane in the house.... Any time that I can see Gary is a good night, he is such a hottie, taken, but a hottie.

After a night of dancing, will hopefully be heading over to a friends house for an evening of swimming, should be fun!
Danced, played pool and had some of the greatest and funniest conversations throughout the night.

The band for the weekend is Desert Mountain Band and they definitely have no problem keeping the dance floor moving, they even have a fiddle player in the band... Hey, that's a song isn't it?

Well, not sure if I will be heading out and about again tonight, if I do, see ya on the dance floor, otherwise, have a great night and stay safe out there.
I did find a club that not only has some pretty good food and dance lessons, but that also has a live country band on Friday and Saturday, with no cover charge.

The bands change on occasion, but so far the house band would have to be viewed as Justin Wright and The High Octane. Gary Cox, well he's a hottie!

Ladies, whether you are single or not, this place would have to rank very high on my list of 'Feeling Safe'. The bouncers are very attentive and will make sure your time there, whether by yourself or with a group of friends is a fun time. The owners are very personable and even mingle with us commoners... lol. As for the rest of the staff, well, you need to come out and experience for yourself, awesome, just totally awesome people.

Oh, the club is called Cowboy Lookout Grill. It's at 16th Street and Bell Road in Phoenix.

Oh and guess what, it's almost Friday now... woo hoo! See ya on the dance floor.
Learning how to move forward in my life without feeling guilty for wanting to do so and coming full circle.

Work is going great, I have an awesome career and I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary, already! The time sure flies by.

Got myself a nice little place that I am extremely comfortable with and impatiently waiting for the 22nd of the month to arrive which means my youngest daughter will be staying with me for a couple of weeks during her vacation from school.

I am slowly but surely finding that I can actually navigate these roads here in both Phoenix and Scottsdale. The first few months I was lost a lot! Thank goodness for GPS! In fact just this afternoon I was in Surprise, a place that I ended up in when I should have been in Scottsdale a few months back... I was there today as part of a support system for a friend. She had a few issues come up and needed a friend with her when the results were read. Nice hospital and I thought I saw a certain drummer person there, but can't be sure, it's been a while and well, it was hot and I could truly only focus on finding a cool place to plop my ass down! As for my friend, she is fine, all the results came back in her favor... yeah!

My oldest daughter will begin her 23 state tour with the National Drum Corps in the next couple of weeks, excited and yet nervous as all hell for that one. She's still my baby girl!

Well, can't think of anything else to catch you up to speed with, so until next time, stay cool, stay hydrated and for goodness sake, get out and live your lives!Arizona Gold ...
Some days are great, like today, my San Francisco 49ers took on and beat the Chicago Bears.... awesome does not describe my joy!

Last week was very difficult as my youngest son joined the ranks of our service men and women, he is currently in South Carolina for 7 months. As upset and concerned that I was, I had a really hard time with the fact that he left a week before Thanksgiving. It was my 14 year old that made me realize something that brought me out of whatever selfish moments that I seemed to be wallowing in, she basically said, our Military doesn't get the day off, think about all those out there not spending it with their families, and it's probably been years since they have.... wow, my 14 year old basically did a 'talk to the hand' moment on me!

Don't get me wrong, she was very upset that her brother is leaving for 7 months and her fears are fed with what she reads and views on the t.v and in newspapers, but she is turning out to be one really smart and compassionate cookie.

Arizona Gold ... Plated?http://www.blogger.com/profile/05227335914771157588noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803467515245931412.post-46089598361952967202012-09-23T12:29:00.003-07:002012-09-23T12:29:39.489-07:00Pushing Through...Wow, it has been a whole month and then some since my last post... So I guess I just need to start somewhere right?

For starters, I am now living full time in Phoenix and renting a room from Shawn. Work is in Scottsdale and that is going great, moments when it is hectic beyond what chaos would describe and then there's moments when the thoughts that go through my head can actually be made sense of.

I just returned from a 3 day stint in Chicago for work, that went pretty good, although I was exhausted because they let us have our evenings and we found plenty of things to do.

I think I have seen my AZ Drummer a few times, once in a grocery store and a few times on the drive to work. In all honesty, as angry as we seem to be at each other, I do hope he is okay.

As for Robert. Well, if there is one thing that I will not tolerate in a relationship, friends or otherwise, it is lying to me or purposely being deceitful. As soon as he came clean about actually being married and not separated outside of him being out of state from where his family is located, I had to do some thinking and put myself in the shoes of his wife.

If he had made the effort himself to come clean, then perhaps we would at least have communication, but that didn't happen. So, I had to walk away from that friendship and wish him all the best.

So for now, my life revolves around work, home and the occasional meet-n-greet, yes, I am back on the dating site and have recently began accepting invitations to meet from those I have been speaking to for the past month or so. As of today, I have met with one person. Very nice man, enjoyed our time and the few games of pool that we had a chance to play, great conversationalist, but didn't feel anything outside of a new friend to hang out with once in a while. So I just realized something.... perhaps it isn't a friend to hang out with on occasion that I am looking for.

Hmmmmm, didn't see that coming just yet!Arizona Gold ...
I am actually glad that I did accept, being here with him and his son has not only opened my eyes to how he is as a father, but also how close he is with his son. It's been a great experience and I have made the right decision on not allowing a relationship to come between them.

Initially when I agreed, I was really nervous about how his son would react to me being here and the fact that it is not his mom under the same roof as his dad. It was quite nerve wrecking to be honest. Now, I am being shown all of his drawings, his hobbies, his humor and some of his toys, it's actually pretty cute and I am really happy that he is comfortable with me being here.

Dad on the other hand is also more relaxed and yet, I can sense that he is still on edge.

Slowly, we are working on finding some form of comfort for both of us, the adults in the house! After his son goes to bed, we sit on the couch and watch t.v or jump in the pool, but we always end up with a great conversation and holding hands. There has been no further discussions of a relationship, there has been no attempt on an intimacy note although we did kiss once.

It appears that we are both on the same page with this whole arrangement and he has honored my wishes to not push something on us that doesn't start in the best interest of his son. I am not saying that down the road I wouldn't like to take whatever it is we have found further, but right now, that is just not possible.Arizona Gold ... We were looking for Pioneer Peak.

As we came upon the road, it was quite clear that this wasn't going to be so easy as the previous weekend. Unfortunately there were no signs at the bottom of the mountain that would have led us in the direction we needed to go.

The one sign that we did find that had Pioneer Peak listed on it did not take us there, in fact we seemed to drive for quite some distance without going uphill, so we flipped a u-turn and tried again. This time, we stayed to the left of the road where we had seen signs posted regarding ATV's, Dirt Bikes, etc... This particular road immediately started going uphill, yeah! Within a mile or so on this road, we did find a sign that led us to believe we were heading in the right direction.

Well, we did eventually find Pioneer Peak, although the view was nothing like that of Pioneer Pass, it was definitely worth checking out anyway. We came across a cave, found some towers and saw a storm sweep over the mountain side just below Pioneer Peak.
One of the things I miss the most not being in California, aside from my children, family and friends of course, but it would have to be the beauty provided by the numerous trees in our parks. There were times when I would just jump in my car and head off to Armstrong Woods to escape my life, my emotions, just a way to soothe my soul when the need arises.

Well I am happy to say that when the need showed up this weekend, Robert took me to an area that definitely helped my situation. We took a drive out to the Pinal Mountains (Tonto National Forest) and trekked about Pioneer Pass.

He has been separated from his wife for the past 3 years.

Initially I had unfairly judged his decision for telling me. I thought it was less than truthful and the only way he thought to possibly get me to sleep with him, hell, all I knew per our previous conversations was that he was married and had been away from his family for the past few months, so my thought fell along the lines of someone who was lonely and needing to get laid.

When my reaction was less than favorable towards him as he made an attempt to kiss me, I really thought that my behavior would have sent him in a direction to look for someone else, someone more than willing to accommodate his urges. But that didn't happen. In fact he apologized for his behavior and insisted that I never avoid being truthful to him, regardless of the chance that it may hurt or anger him. He stated that he has never met anyone like me who isn't afraid to speak her mind and actually mean it.

Friday morning I had learned of a friend from back home passing away. My day didn't continue, I found myself stuck on idle as I continued to feel guilty for being here in Arizona and not back home having spent more time with my friend before he passed, I actually felt extremely selfish for the decisions that I made.

When the evening came, I decided that I needed to get out of the house, I needed a way to release the frustration, emotions, anger, guilt, etc... So I kept my plans with Robert for an evening of dancing and pool.

As we had been at the bar for about an hour or so, a song came on that he liked and he led me to the dance floor. It was actually a fast song. So, as we were shaking our asses on the dance floor, the next thing I know he has his hand on my upper back and the dancers around us are moving much faster than we were. At some point during the dance he said that he could see it in my eyes that I was trying really hard to keep from crying, I was trying really hard to have a good time, that I was trying really hard not to mess up his night with my emotional state. So, he put his hand on my back and pulled me close to him, holding me tighter than I have ever allowed him to do prior.

Before we left the bar, he asked if I would like to stay with him? He promised to be a perfect gentleman and not take advantage of my emotional state. He stated that he could see that I just needed a friend, comfort, support and understanding. He offered me endless use of his arms for the night in whatever capacity I needed.

My thought at the time he asked was that yes, whether he was a gentleman or not, I needed someone to make the pain go away, I needed someone to take my mind off of my problems, my guilt, my frustration.

We spoke for many hours, eventually waking up in each others arms sometime just before noon. He didn't try anything, he was a perfect gentleman, a perfect friend. After we ate breakfast, I went home, changed and returned to his house as we had plans for the day.

It is now a totally different feeling between us, yes there is friendship still, but there is more respect for him in my eyes. After we were done running around for the day, we headed to the bar for another round of pool and dancing, this time it felt as though people were moving out of our way as we headed to the dance floor, I can't explain the feeling, but it is a nice one.Arizona Gold ... I would like to wish everyone out there in blogger-land a wonderful, fun and safe 4th of July.

Please remember to bring in your pets, especially dogs who usually freak completely out at the onset of the nights festivities.

For our dogs, we have them in a room that has window coverings, several little doggie tents with enough material that they can crawl under and the radio on. Only one of the dogs, the alpha-male Brutus gets extremely anxious / nervous with loud noises such as thunder or fireworks, so for him he gets an anxiety pill provided by his vet, it usually does the trick for him. The other two dogs just look at him as if he's lost his little mind. On occasion though if it is really bad, they tend to get nervous because he is nervous.

In any case, keep it fun, keep it safe!

Plated?http://www.blogger.com/profile/05227335914771157588noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803467515245931412.post-89212174746241445312012-07-03T23:56:00.000-07:002012-07-03T23:56:58.486-07:00Arizona Dreaming...Since returning to Arizona, one of the things that I wanted to do was check out all the different sights available, from the Grand Canyon to some of the mines, thus providing an idea of where to take the kids when they come out to visit. Having met Robert, he too is very interested in doing the same for his children. So we started our sightseeing this past weekend, our first stop was Lake Roosevelt.

No doubt that there are some awesome places to be seen out here, it is just a matter of finding them. Unfortunately I checked with the Chamber of Commerce Tourist Information and although the book provided has a lot of pretty pictures of scenery and establishments, it doesn't quite tell you what location you are looking at, so know way to know how to get there, arrrrg!

One of the places that we kept talking about was this turquoise mine/jewelry shop right here in Globe. It is a place that we both pass on a regular basis so we decided it would be nice to check out. After finding out the actual name of the place, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, I checked out their website for visiting hours, was completely stumped by their days/hours thinking that it had to be listed wrong on their website, so I called... nope, not wrong on their website! The place is open Mon - Fri from 8 - 4pm... What the hell? As it is actually located on one of the main roads used in and out of town by numerous travelers, wouldn't it be better opened during the weekend as well? I just don't understand the thinking of this establishments hours of operation. I guess Robert and I are going to have to go elsewhere to check out some jewelry made with the riches of the local mines.

So now he has left the task of adventure to me.... ughhhh! I will be researching some locations, both local and not so local, map it out and off we will go. Currently our major adventure is going to take us away for the entire weekend, The Grand Canyon. I have been there before, he has not. It will be an awesome sight for him to see personally as pictures do it no justice. Until that trip is planned, we will be traveling locally. I think for our next adventure we are going to check out the Besh-ba-Gowah Archeological Park, but that is just a thought at this time....

If anyone out there in blogger-land has any ideas of some great places to visit here in Arizona, please feel free to provide some input.
